January 6th – seventeen days until takeoff, so far I have booked my flight to and from India, I have my visas for India and Pakistan, my vaccinations with the exception of yellow fever, I have registered for the All India Ophthalmology Meeting and made Hotel arrangements for Hyderabad, and I have the prescriptions I need to take with me. A business colleague in India will make arrangements for the domestic flights and hotels in India.
Yesterday was hectic, in the morning I had to go to pick-up my visa for Pakistan. Early afternoon brought an appointment at Kaiser to read my TB skin test, and to have the first shot of my hepatitis ‘A’ vaccination.
I still haven’t solved the photographic legend problem. Until I do I think I will add a legend to the bottom of my post in italics.
PHOTOGRAPHS
Guatemala Nights II:
This photograph was taken on an overnight bus ride to Tikal in Guatemala. It was taken at one of the bus stops during the night. For me this photograph conveys the darkness and the loneliness of the Guatemalan countryside at night.
Waiting for the Train:
This is one of my favorite photographs from my trip to London in June of 2006. It depicts a woman waiting for the underground at the Earl’s Court Station.
LV Culver:
This photograph was taken near my sister’s home in Henderson, Nevada.
Potomac Summer 2006:
This photograph was taken from the Potomac side of the Kennedy Center. I could not resist the tree.
